Alonte Johnson

Associate Director of Curriculum and School Support

Alonte joins the team with over a decade of educational experience including ELA and Math instruction, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, and most recently as the Principal of Leadership Prep Ocean Hill Middle Academy, where he led online, hybrid and in-person instruction. Building on his passion for teacher and leader development, Alonte will support schools and networks with implementation of the Reading Reconsidered curriculum as well as best practices for building school and classroom culture. Alonte was also a member of the founding cohort of TLAC Teaching Fellows. Alonte is a master of linguistics coining the phrases “cool beans,” “awesome-sauce,” and “great!”
