TLAC Guide to the Science of Reading Webinar

In this 120-minute webinar, co-authors, Doug Lemov, Erica Woolway and Colleen Driggs will preview share the key research arguments from cognitive science that are outlined in our team’s newest publication The TLAC Guide to the Science of Reading. Areas of research covered in this include the critical role of background knowledge and fluency, building attention, creating strong communities of readers through shared reading, and the power of effective writing instruction in reading classes. For each of these areas of research, we will distill some principles for literacy instruction and provide examples of how to integrate these principles in lesson materials and instruction.

This webinar is designed for leaders or teachers who are interested in strengthening their literacy instruction and would like to learn more about the cognitive science behind middle school literacy.
