Well-paced, rigorous lessons require not just high-quality lesson materials but strong teacher preparation. Join us on September 28th and 30th from 3:00-4:30 pm EST for a new workshop focused on lesson preparation. In this remote workshop for teachers and leaders, participants will study our practical approach to bringing reading lessons to life while also deepening content knowledge. In this three-part series, facilitators will describe key components of lesson preparation and provide exemplar resources that will enable teachers to make deliberate, context-specific decisions within lesson materials to support their students’ literacy growth.
WE WILL:
- examine text preparation practices to support active and meaningful cycles of reading
- learn how to prioritize lesson tasks and prepare for daily instruction
- study practices for responding to error and increasing student participation
Note: While this workshop will use Reading Reconsidered curricular materials as the foundation for study and practice, the techniques and best practices are applicable across any research-based reading curriculum for grades 3 and up.
YOU WILL RECEIVE:
Schools that purchase the Implementation Toolkit License will receive a link to download copies of all workshop materials, as well as additional training materials, including:
- Full description of all techniques, methods, and practice activities covered in the training
- PowerPoint slides used in the workshop
- Access to video clips shown and talking points that demonstrate foundational literacy techniques in action
- Aligned coaching tools and other materials to maximize teacher development
